The idea of using tiny objects to create a piece of art originated from accumulating board games with missing pieces. Instead of throwing them away I decided I wanted to make something. After researching ideas online I ran across artist Jane Perkins who creates a similar style of art work. This inspired me to collect more items which involved donations from the community and visits to local thrift stores. 1961 will be my 5th piece of art using found objects. I chose to create the Fisher Price Talk Back Phone/Chatter Phone because of its vibrant colors and………it looked fun! The title is simply the year the phone was created. I have a lot more “junk” at home and look forward to creating new pieces in the future.
