Important Update

Dear Friends of Belton Center for the Arts,

We want to share some important news about upcoming transitions at the arts center. Both I, Kendell Lusk, Executive Director, and Madison Ashley, Program Director, have recently submitted our resignation and will be stepping away from our roles in the coming weeks. While the timing may seem surprising, our decisions are unrelated and purely coincidental, each made independently and for personal reasons.

During this period of transition, the Board of Directors will begin the search for new leadership to guide Belton Center for the Arts into its next chapter. While that search is underway, class programming will be temporarily paused.

While we are without staff, our Board of Directors has stepped in to keep the Center open on a temporary schedule, to allow visitors to enjoy the remaining duration of the Ceramics Invitational Exhibit. Thank you for your understanding during this transition.

Until August 21, BCA will be open to the public:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

10:00 AM — 2:00 PM

After the close of the current exhibit on August 21, the arts center will be closed to the public, except for scheduled events, until a new Executive Director is instated. If you need to reach out with questions or concerns in the meantime, please direct those messages to admin@beltonarts.org.

As for the Juried Art Show: the show must go on! We appreciate your patience, as many of you were expecting a prospectus by mid-July. The timeline has shifted, but the prospectus will now be mailed next week. In the meantime, information on the Juried Art Show, especially the calendar of events, can be found on our website. I'm also proud to announce our juror for this year: Jordan Dantzler!

We are incredibly grateful for the support you’ve shown over the years. The Belton Center for the Arts is a special place because of its members, volunteers, artists, and friends like you. We’re confident the organization will continue to thrive with your continued involvement and care.

With appreciation,

Kendell Lusk
Executive Director
